Whois Verification Process

The Whois Verification process is a mandatory requirement from ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) that applies to all domain registrations. However, don’t get stressed about it, because the verification process is very simple.

All you have to do to verify your email address and contact info is to click a link that is sent to your e-mail address after you register your first domain name with your e-mail address, or whenever you update the e-mail address on your domain registration.

For some domain extensions, the local registry that is responsible (eg Nominet for UK domains, auDA for Australian Domains) may impose additional checks, such as verifying that the physical address is a valid address, and/or verifying the information about the individual or company that is registering the domain.

Is There a Chance That You Won’t Receive a Verification Request or Be Required to Verify Your Email Address?

If, by any chance, you decide not to verify your email address, your domain name will be deactivated. The deactivation will occur 15 days after you’ve received the email verification request and haven’t completed it. When deactivation occurs, our wholesale registrar partner will change the status of the domain to clientHold. This means entirely disabling the domain for the website, email and any other services until the email verification link has been clicked.

However, if your account is disabled because you haven’t completed the verification process, it will be back immediately after you verify your email address. All in all, we advise you to verify your email immediately instead of getting your account disabled and doing it only when you absolutely have to.

If your domain is disabled, please contact our support team and they will be happy to assist with updating your domain registration information or re-sending the verification email to you.
